New Christchurch Business Launches to Help Keep Community Sport Moving

By: Mursetter

CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand - July 7, 2026 - PRLog -- After more than 15 years working behind the scenes with community sporting organisations, Christchurch-based sports administrator and governance specialist Jo Moar has officially launched Mursetter, a business dedicated to supporting the clubs and volunteers who keep grassroots sport alive.

With the tagline "Keeping Clubs Moving," Mursetter has been created to provide practical, affordable operational support to sports clubs, community organisations and not-for-profit groups that are increasingly finding it difficult to attract volunteers and manage growing administrative demands.

Rather than replacing volunteers, Mursetter works alongside committees to strengthen governance, improve financial administration, assist with funding applications, develop policies and systems, manage communications, and help clubs become more sustainable for the future.

"Community sport simply doesn't happen without volunteers, but we're asking more of those volunteers every year," says Jo Moar, Founder of Mursetter.

"Many committees are made up of people juggling full-time jobs, families and their own sporting commitments. They care deeply about their clubs, but often don't have enough hours in the day to keep up with everything that needs to be done. Mursetter exists to help lighten that load."

The business draws on extensive experience working across a wide range of sporting organisations, including bowls, tennis, football and other community groups. Services range from bookkeeping and financial reporting through to governance support, grant funding, administration, committee support, project management and strategic planning.

Unlike traditional consulting businesses that focus on reports and recommendations, Mursetter prides itself on becoming part of the team and delivering practical outcomes.

"Whether it's preparing funding applications, writing committee reports, managing club administration, improving systems or helping plan for the future, the focus is always on providing practical support that allows volunteers to spend more time enjoying their club and less time buried in paperwork."

The launch comes at a time when many sporting organisations across New Zealand are facing increasing financial pressure, rising operating costs and declining volunteer capacity. Mursetter aims to provide an affordable solution that helps clubs continue delivering quality experiences for their members while building stronger governance and operational foundations.

Although based in Christchurch, Mursetter supports organisations throughout New Zealand and works with clubs of all sizes, tailoring its services to suit each organisation's individual needs.

As the business launches, Jo says the goal is simple.

"If I can help clubs become stronger, more sustainable and give volunteers back some of their time, then I've achieved exactly what I set out to do. Strong clubs create strong communities, and that's something worth investing in."
