igus Sets New Benchmark in Cleanroom Energy Supply with ISO Class 1

SINGAPORE - July 7, 2026 - PRLog -- igus, the global leader in energy chain systems, has introduced an innovative cleanroom energy supply solution that delivers maximum cleanliness, reliability and efficiency for highly automated industries such as semiconductor manufacturing, microelectronics and battery production. The combination of the C6 cleanroom energy chain and the new e-spin guide system has been certified by Fraunhofer IPA to ISO Cleanroom Class 1, enabling abrasion-resistant operation over travel distances of up to 30 metres.

As cleanroom production facilities continue to expand, manufacturers face increasing challenges in supplying power and data across longer transport routes while maintaining strict particle-control standards. Traditional busbar systems are unable to transmit data and often require intensive maintenance, while conventional energy chains frequently depend on complex particle extraction systems.

The new igus C6 energy chain addresses these challenges with a breakthrough design. Paired with the innovative e-spin guide system, the solution allows energy chains to roll instead of glide, significantly reducing wear and particle generation. Made from tribologically optimized high-performance plastics, the guide wheels are positioned between the upper and lower runs of the chain, ensuring smooth operation without additional particle emissions.

Extensive laboratory testing conducted in collaboration with Fraunhofer IPA confirmed that the C6 cleanroom energy chain with e-spin achieves the highest ISO Class 1 cleanroom certification at a speed of 0.5 m/s. The system is also highly abrasion-resistant, low-maintenance, and engineered for long service life, helping manufacturers maximize uptime in mission-critical operations.
