China Unicom Europe Hosts AI Sub-Forum at 3rd ESG Conference

BERLIN - July 2, 2026 - PRLog -- the Artificial Intelligence Sub-Forum of the 3rd Sino-European Corporate ESG Best Practice Conference was successfully held at the Rheingoldhalle Mainz in Germany. Hosted by China Unicom Europe, this sub-forum served as an important platform for UniCom to deeply engage in the high-level Sino-European economic and trade dialogue, while comprehensively showcasing its integrated capabilities in artificial intelligence and digitalization.

The Conference was initiated by the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Frankfurt am Main, in collaboration with multiple Chinese and international institutions. Centered around the theme "From Vision to Practice: Co-Shaping Green Value Chain through ESG Partnership", the event attracted over 200 large Sino-European multinational enterprises, including Sinopec, CATL, Midea, Airbus, Siemens, and Bayer. As one of the four core sub-forums of the Conference, the AI sub-forum was moderated by Dr.-Ing. Elmar Stumpf, Chairman of the China Netzwerk Baden-Württemberg(CNBW).

Mr. Huang Yiyang, Chinese Consul General in Frankfurt, and Mr. Han Xing, General Manager of China Unicom Europe, jointly delivered the opening remarks for the forum. Mr. Huang pointed out that China and Germany possess highly complementary advantages in the field of AI, and he looked forward to a deep integration of "German precision" and "China speed" to generate a 1+1>2 synergistic innovation effect. Mr. Han stated that Unicom has always viewed artificial intelligence not only as a technological opportunity but also as a profound social responsibility. The company is committed to empowering the green transition with AI, enhancing social inclusivity, and upholding principles of responsible governance. He emphasized that AI is becoming the new electricity of the digital economy, and the telecommunications industry will play a critical pivotal role in this process, with UniCom continuing to serve as a solid bridge connecting Sino-German cooperation in the digital economy.

During the keynote speech section, guests from Germany and China, including Samson Group, UniDT, the Delegation of Nanjing Municipal People's Government, Phancy Group, and the Australian National Institute of Management and Commerce (IMC), shared their frontier practices and innovative achievements of AI in fields such as smart manufacturing, green and low-carbon transition, and higher education governance.

The successful hosting of this sub-forum is a pragmatic step by China Unicom Europe to actively integrate into the broader picture of Sino-European digital economy cooperation. It also demonstrates the company's efforts to deepen service localization and promote cross-regional collaborative development. Looking to the future, China Unicom Europe will fully leverage its technological advantages in cross-border networks, cloud-network integration, and artificial intelligence to continuously enhance its brand influence in the European market,  making greater contributions to UniCom's internationalization strategy and Sino-European AI cooperation.
