Hunter's Choice: A Stolen Kidnapping by Morgan Bruce

VERO BEACH, Fla. - July 2, 2026 - PRLog -- Wild Adventure Geared for Young Adults Is Set in New Zealand

Hunter's Choice about where he wants to live makes life difficult for Peter Graves, a young man who wants to help Hunter, a nine-year-old disabled boy who is running away from home.

Hunter Driscoll is non-verbal. Although he's not deaf, Hunter only communicates by signing or writing notes. Peter's involvement with Hunter begins when Peter's long-lost stepsister calls him to help her with a fake kidnapping plot involving Hunter.

When Peter's stepsister then dies in a car accident, Peter is the only person left who knows where Hunter was hidden away during the fake kidnapping.

Peter finds Hunter and offers to take him back to either of his divorced parents. But Hunter refuses both choices, because he is always left alone with a nanny, and could end up in boarding school where he worries that he would be bullied because of his disability. Instead, Hunter yearns to be with his loving grandmother who lives hundreds of miles away.

Hunter doesn't want his parents to know where he is going, and the journey would be complicated since Hunter's photo is in the news due to the fake kidnapping story. This all makes for a most suspenseful road trip.

Both the author and his characters live in New Zealand.

"This powerful story about a young boy looking for a loving home will pull at your heartstrings. Brace yourself for a wild ride." – Lynn Eddy, VP of Acquisitions, Strategic Book Publishing
