Transgender Ruling Not Unfair, And Very Necessary

WASHINGTON - June 30, 2026 - PRLog -- Today's Supreme Court's ruling - that laws can protect girls and women from being forced to compete against male [M2F transgender] athletes - is not unfair, and such laws are important for several compelling reasons, says public interest law professor John Banzhaf, who has won over 100 cases of illegal sex discrimination, and provides many examples to prove his point.

LGBTQIA2-S (https://dmh.lacounty.gov/blog/2022/06/a-brief-history-of-our-lgbtqia2-s-pride-flag/) supporters argue that it is unfair to prohibit M2F transgender athletes from competing in sports simply because they have a penis, but the law professor says this argument.

M2F students are not in fact prohibited from competing in sports events.  They may, of course, compete, provided that, like all athletes, they compete on the team consistent with their genitals.

Also, Banzhaf explains that dozens of men who are not transgender are themselves barred from playing NCAA volleyball, for example, on both men's and women's teams, for every single M2F student who is barred from playing on the women's volleyball team.

That's because many if not most colleges and universities have women's but not men's NCAA volleyball teams to reduce costs, so that many male students are barred from playing simply because they are male and there is no men's volleyball team. . . .

Banzhaf cites dozens of situations involving many different sports where girls and women have suffered serious and sometimes even debilitating injuries when forced to compete against M2F transgender athletes. . . .

Banzhaf bolsters that argument by noting that athletes in their 20's are never permitted to compete in Senior Olympics and other athletic competitions restricted to older athletes even if they claim to feel (or even act) old.

Similarly, would a boxer or wrestler who weighs 240 pounds ever be allowed to even step into the ring or onto the mat in matches in lightweight or even middleweight divisions simply because he believes himself to much lighter, and even if he can show that a few heavyweights might lose to a much lighter but more skilled opponent?  If not, why should there be a different result for males who claim to be (or to feel) female.

Banzhaf also provides extreme examples showing the absurdity of males being permitted to compete against females.
