Backed by Royal Trophies, IYBC 2026 Ignites Asia-Oceania's ultimate Youth Basketball Showdown

BANGKOK - June 27, 2026 - PRLog -- Thailand is preparing to welcome the region's most promising young basketball talents as the INTERNATIONAL YOUTH BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026 (IYBC 2026) returns from 24–28 July 2026, bringing together 94 teams from across Asia and Oceania for one of the largest international youth basketball tournaments in the region.

Approved by FIBA Asia and supported by the Sports Authority of Thailand and the Basketball Sport Association of Thailand, the championship will be held at the RIS (Ruamrudee International School) Minburi Campus and RIS Swiss Section in Bangkok, Thailand.

The tournament will showcase the talent, determination, and sportsmanship of young athletes competing across multiple age divisions, creating a vibrant platform where competition, learning, and cultural exchange come together.

Adding to the tournament's prestige is the Royal Trophies graciously bestowed by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, the championships' highest honor. The Royal Trophies underscore the significance of the IYBC 2026 and reflect the contribution to youth development and international sporting exchange.

Organized by the Parent Group of Thai Youth Basketball Players, IYBC has evolved into a leading international platform that extends far beyond the pursuit of championships. The tournament promotes cultural understanding, international friendship, and personal growth by bringing together young athletes from diverse backgrounds through the universal language of sport.

Participating teams from countries and territories across Asia and Oceania will compete in an environment that emphasizes excellence, respect, teamwork, and mutual learning. Beyond the competition, players, coaches, and families will have the opportunity to experience Thailand's renowned hospitality and rich cultural heritage while building meaningful and lasting relationships with peers from around the region.

"The IYBC 2026 is more than a basketball tournament," said Ms. Chupit Chutitum, Senior Executive Director of IYBC 2026. "It is a celebration of youth, unity, and international friendship. By bringing together young athletes from different countries and cultures, we hope to inspire the next generation to pursue excellence not only in sports but also in life."

The championships are expected to attract thousands of athletes, officials, family members, and spectators, generating significant international exposure for Thailand and further strengthening the country's growing reputation as a premier destination for youth sporting events. Equally important, the tournament serves as a vital mechanism for advancing youth basketball development in Thailand by providing local players with invaluable opportunities to compete against high-calibre international teams.

As the countdown to tip-off continues, anticipation is building for what promises to be an unforgettable celebration of basketball, friendship, and cultural exchange. With a record number of participating teams and the distinction of competing for a Royal Trophy, the IYBC 2026 is poised to become a landmark event on the Asia-Oceania youth sports calendar.
