"RNBPLYLST began with a conversation in 2023 between myself, the late, great Jason "J Hatch" Hadshian , and later Omar 'O2' White. At a time when many people were saying R&B was dead, we believed the opposite. Hatch had always wanted to create something that would shine a light on independent R&B artists and help preserve the culture.

One thing he often told me was that I reminded him of himself. He would say I came with my heart in my hand—bringing passion, ideas, value, and the drive to build something meaningful. He also shared that it felt good to have a partner who led with emotion, because he believed that genuine passion and care for people were essential when creating a lasting impact.
