Candidate Jennifer Todd to Host Virtual Conversation on Future of Farming in Illinois' 15th CD

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - June 19, 2026 - PRLog -- SPRINGFIELD – Democratic congressional candidate Jennifer Todd will host a virtual Coffee & Conversation on Saturday, June 20 at 10:00 a.m. to discuss the challenges facing farmers and agricultural communities in Illinois' 15th Congressional District.

Coffee & Conversation is a monthly series giving residents across all 35 counties an opportunity to ask questions, share concerns, and participate in the conversation.

"Across our massive 17,000-square-mile district, we're home to some of the richest farmland in the entire world," said Todd. "But to truly understand it, you have to talk to the people who work it. I don't come from a farming background myself, just enough to know how much I still have to learn. That's why I've been talking to farmers across the district about the real impact recent events have had on their livelihoods."

Farmers across Illinois' 15th District are facing rising costs and tighter margins. Cuts that put funding and stability for agriculture programs at risk threaten family farms, workers, small businesses, and the communities that depend on them.

"What has Mary Miller brought back to our district? I can't find anything online. She has forgotten why she was sent there, and that was to represent us and not fight a culture war for headlines. It is impossible to even hear back from her office when raising concerns," said Doug Kirby of Kirby Farms in Mason City.
