How It Works: 6 Key Stages

1. Feed Stage Slurry is pumped into the filter chambers. Solids deposit on the filter cloth to form an initial cake layer; filtrate exits through the discharge ports. Feed pressure and flow rate are controlled to ensure uniform chamber filling.

2. Pressing Stage Sustained pressure forces liquid through the cloth while solids compact into a thicker cake. NHD's membrane pressing technology achieves cake moisture content as low as 10%.

3. Cake Washing (optional) Wash liquid is injected through the filter plates to displace residual liquid in the cake pores, removing soluble impurities and recovering valuable filtrate. Wash liquid is collected separately from the primary filtrate.

4. Membrane Pressing A high-pressure medium inflates an elastic membrane inside the plates, applying a secondary squeeze at up to 1.6 MPa. This step is essential for dry-stack tailings disposal and metallurgical concentrate dewatering.

5. Cake Discharge Pneumatic cylinders open the filter plates in sequence; the filter cake drops under gravity into a collection hopper or conveyor — fully automatic, no manual intervention required.

6. Cloth Cleaning A two-level system maintains cloth performance: low-pressure spray wash runs after every cycle; high-pressure washing (typically daily) penetrates the cloth pores to restore permeability and extend service life.
