| Midwest Compressor Systems Welcomes Kennedy Abshire to the TeamBy: Midwest Compressor Systems She joins her sister, Morgan, who graduated from West Texas A&M University and has been with Midwest since October 2023, working in accounts payable. For David Abshire, this one is different. He raised both daughters as a single father, built a career from the ground floor of the compression industry, and owns a company he started with eight employees and 100 units. Today, Midwest operates across six states with a fleet of nearly 400 units and a team of more than 40 people, two of whom happen to call him dad. "There are not a lot of women in this industry," David said. "To have both of my daughters choose to be part of this, that means more to me than anything I've accomplished in my career." Natural gas compression has long been a field dominated by engineers and field hands, most of them men. Midwest Compressor Systems is among a growing number of companies in the oil and gas space where the next generation of leadership looks different than the last. Kennedy Abshire joins Midwest Compressor Systems as an Account Manager, working directly with customers on compression needs and day-to-day support. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Investment and Management from the University of Arkansas, where she developed a foundation in finance and customer relations that she plans to apply in the field. Outside the office, Kennedy stays close to family and friends, travels when she can, and is always working on whatever comes next. Midwest Compressor Systems manufactures, rents, and services natural gas compressor packages from its facility in Pampa, Texas, serving operators across the Permian Basin, Eagle Ford, DJ Basin, Powder River Basin, and Anadarko Basin.
