Swingin' Sunday Concert Honors Nelson Riddle, Broadcaster Sid Mark!

OCEAN GROVE, N.J. - June 14, 2026 - PRLog -- A marvelous two-hour special theatrical event, the Sinatra Celebration Concert, presented by Karen Morris and The Rat Pack Music Alliance, was a Swingin' Sunday success.

Musical icons Frank Sinatra and the marvelous arranger Nelson Riddle were honored, as well as the 70th Anniversary of the long-running broadcast program, The Sounds of Sinatra with Sid Mark.

The program delighted all who attended on Sunday afternoon, June 7th, at the Palaia Theater, inside the Jersey Shore Arts Center, 66 South Main Street, in Ocean Grove, New Jersey.

Filled with Sinatra fans of all ages, the audience savored the sensational live entertainment, featuring vocalist Zack Alexander and the Swingadelic Big Band, with insightful chats and personal anecdotes from three exceptional guest speakers: Brian Mark, Chuck Granata and Dana Polan.

Emcee Brian Mark, executive producer of The Sounds of Sinatra, shared memories of his father Sid Mark and his close connection with Frank Sinatra, and a variety of celebrities.

Zack Alexander,  the outstanding jazz vocalist, accompanied by the fantastic Swingadelic Big Band, received a standing ovation for the heartfelt medley of Nelson Riddle/Frank Sinatra popular tunes.

Charles L. 'Chuck' Granata, music historian and host of the broadcast program, Sinatra Standard Time on Jazz 88.3FM KSDS Radio, and Dana Polan, Professor in the Martin Scorsese Department of Cinema Studies, New York University, eloquently discussed the brilliance of Nelson Riddle.

A memorable and meaningful segment of the show occurred when a video was shown of Frank Sinatra singing the song The House I Live In/That's America To Me, with Nelson Riddle conducting, during a performance at the White House in 1973.
