Rayton Launch 1 MW Solar Power Plant, generating over 1.5 million in monthly

Generating 1.5M UAH in Monthly Savings: Rayton Builds 1 MW Solar Plant for Ternopil Quarry
By: Rayton

KYIV, Ukraine - June 11, 2026 - PRLog -- A new 1 MW ground-mounted solar power plant (SPP) has been successfully completed and commissioned at the Maksymivka facility of PJSC Ternopil Quarry. The project, implemented by Rayton, is unprecedented for the Ukrainian mining industry and marks one of the first examples of integrating solar generation directly within an active crushed stone quarry.

The construction of the solar plant was completed in a record time of just four months. During this period, the installation team mounted 1,586 Trina solar panels, each with a capacity of 620W.

Amid capacity shortages in Ukraine's unified power grid and soaring commercial electricity tariffs (which reach approximately 15 UAH/kWh for this facility), launching an in-house solar power plant delivers a massive economic impact. According to preliminary estimates, the solar plant will enable the enterprise to save over 1.5 million UAH per month, significantly reducing overall production costs.

"Step by step, we are building a future where industry operates in synergy with technology and the environment. In-house generation allows us to optimize costs and significantly enhance the economic resilience of our business processes. Furthermore, every megawatt of 'clean' energy we produce for our own needs alleviates pressure on the national grid and serves as our direct contribution to the stability of Ukraine's energy system. We are implementing 'green' initiatives in practice, not just in words, to remain a reliable partner and a responsible industry leader."

Executing the project on the quarry grounds came with specific operational challenges. The primary hurdle for the engineering team was the high volume of industrial limestone dust, which is typical for such manufacturing facilities.

The successful commissioning of the solar power plant at the Maksymivka facility clearly demonstrates that the transition to renewable energy is no longer just an environmental trend; it has become a vital necessity for the survival and development of energy-intensive industries in Ukraine.
