OAKLAND, Calif. - June 9, 2026 - PRLog -- Black Independent Author Publishes the First Full Book Documenting the Musk v. OpenAI (Musk v. Altman) Federal Trial — Written From Inside the Oakland Courtroom

Oakland, California — June 2026 — Award‑winning writer and Oakland author Carol Denise Mitchell has published the first full‑length book documenting the historic Musk v. OpenAI federal trial, making her the earliest author to release a complete eyewitness account of the case.

Mitchell's new book, OPENAI: Oakland's Seat at the Table, is the first published work to chronicle the lawsuit between Elon Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, including the testimony, legal arguments, jury dynamics, and the unanimous May 18, 2026, verdict delivered inside the Ronald V. Dellums Federal Building in Oakland, California.

Unlike later analyses or retrospective commentary, Mitchell's book was written in real time, based on her presence inside the courtroom, and in the courtyard where she recorded TikTok videos of her live experiences throughout the proceedings. No other journalist, author, or publisher has released a full book on the trial as of this publication date.

"This trial wasn't just about two tech titans," Mitchell said. "It was about civic power, public accountability, and the role of ordinary Oakland citizens in shaping the future of artificial intelligence. I wrote this book so the public record would begin where the truth actually happened — in that courtroom."

The book is now available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0H27CF9S4 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0H27CF9S4?utm_source=copilot.com)

Mitchell, a Black independent author with a long history of documenting civic and cultural moments, has once again placed Oakland at the center of a national conversation — this time at the intersection of technology, law, and public governance.
