Free Community Wellbeing Day Along the Charles — June 13

"Your Mental Health Matters" — a community wellness event brings movement, creativity, and connection to all ages.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - June 8, 2026 - PRLog -- The Massachusetts Trauma Healing Coalition, a program of the Center for Trauma and Embodiment (CFTE), will host Your Mental Health Matters, a free community wellness event on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Mass Audubon's Magazine Beach Park Nature Center along the Charles River in Cambridge. The event is open to all ages and requires no registration.

Sponsored by the Office of Mayor Sumbul Siddiqui, Mass Audubon Boston Nature Center, Justice Resource Institute, DeeDee's Cry and Center for Trauma and Embodiment, the afternoon is designed to make evidence-based approaches to wellbeing accessible to the broader Cambridge community — no clinical intake, no referral, and no prior experience required.

Attendees can expect chair and standing yoga, a guided nature walk, a self-guided mindful movement practice, and a collaborative art project and more as well as community tables with mental health information from sponsors.

"Mental health care shouldn't require knowing where to look or having the right insurance," said Dave Emerson, Co-Founder and Director of Research and Public Policy at CFTE. "Events like this are about meeting people where they already are — in their communities, in their neighborhoods — and offering something genuinely useful and safe."

The MA Trauma Healing Coalition was convened by CFTE to expand access to trauma-informed care across the Commonwealth. CFTE is the home of TCTSY - Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, the world's most researched yoga-based approach to trauma care, with over 40 peer-reviewed publications and 800 trained facilitators practicing in more than 50 countries. A 2023 randomized controlled trial published in JAMA Network Open found TCTSY as effective as Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD.

Event Details Date: Saturday, June 13, 2026 Time: 1:00 – 4:00 PM Location: Mass Audubon's Magazine Beach Park Nature Center, Cambridge, Admission: free of charge. Registration: None required.
