Local commercial real estate firm enhances team with new hire and promotion

SARASOTA, Fla. - May 31, 2026 - PRLog -- Ian Black Real Estate, Sarasota's premier commercial real estate services firm, has hired Jessica Duncan as a sales associate and expanded Jordan Gorrell's role to marketing director and sales associate.

Duncan will assist buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants with their commercial real estate needs throughout Sarasota and Manatee counties. She joins the firm after 12 years in the real estate industry, most recently serving as a commercial real estate paralegal with Trenam Law. She also previously worked as a real estate paralegal with Shumaker and Williams Parker.

Duncan brings extensive experience facilitating commercial real estate transactions, including master-planned community development, commercial lender representation for large project acquisition and construction, affordable housing financing, land use, zoning and licensure. Her legal background gives her a strong understanding of property titles, surveys, municipal codes and zoning regulations.

A second-generation Sarasota native, Duncan grew up in the local agricultural community on her family's cattle ranch. Prior to her legal career, she worked as a wildfire dispatcher with the Florida Forest Service, a role that gave her extensive knowledge of roadways and landmarks across Sarasota, Manatee, Hardee, DeSoto and Charlotte counties.

Gorrell, who has been with Ian Black Real Estate since 2021, has expanded her role from marketing director to marketing director and sales associate. She earned her real estate license in 2025 and began assisting partners Steve Horn and Melissa Harris in January.

In her sales associate role, Gorrell will work as a generalist while supporting Horn and Harris across a range of commercial property types, including office and industrial properties. Gorrell will continue leading the firm's marketing efforts while taking on additional sales responsibilities.
