SUNNYVALE, Calif. - May 26, 2026 - PRLog -- Roch Dog has launched its new standards website, a dedicated home for the world's first structured standard defining what "dog friendly" means in hospitality. The site publishes the full Roch Dog Friendly Standard (RDFS-02) in 11 languages, replacing the inconsistent "pet friendly" label with measurable criteria, defined terminology, and a transparent assessment model that hotels, dog owners, and booking platforms can all reference from a single source.

A Standard With Its Own Address

The new Roch Standard website gives The Dog Friendly Standard a permanent, independent home, signalling its role as the reference point for the category. Everything is open and free to read, published in eleven languages, with the structured data and multilingual infrastructure that lets search engines and AI systems read it as authoritatively as people do.

What Dog Friendly Actually Means
Under the standard, an accommodation is dog friendly only when it permits dogs to stay overnight in guest rooms as a matter of published policy, applies its rules clearly and consistently, provides real food and water bowls in dog rooms, and allows dogs into at least one shared indoor guest area. A hotel must meet all seven minimum requirements to be certified. Meeting six is not a partial pass, it is a fail. Beyond those requirements, hotels are scored against 31 weighted criteria and graded from A+ to F.

Three Documents, One Framework
Roch Standard publishes the standard as three connected documents. RDFS-02 sets the definition and the requirements. The reference guide, RDFRG-02, defines all 29 terms used in the standard. The assessment framework, RDCAF-02, sets out how hotels are tested, certified, and, where necessary, suspended or withdrawn. A 50-question Q&A layer connects the standard to the questions real travellers and AI assistants actually ask.

The Evidence
The standard is backed by the largest independent dataset on dog friendly hospitality. Roch Dog has assessed more than 3,000 hotels across 56 countries. The research found that 49% of properties calling themselves "pet friendly" scored a D or F against basic dog friendliness criteria, and only 12% actually allow cats. It also found a commercial case: genuinely dog friendly hotels generate around 28% more bookings and 30% more revenue.

"A dog is not an afterthought or a liability, it is a family member," said Guise Bule, founder and CEO of Roch Dog. "If a hotel cannot extend genuine hospitality to the entire family, it has no business claiming to be in the hospitality industry at all."
