NEW YORK - May 20, 2026 - PRLog -- A local resident is seeking the owner of a thumb drive containing what appears to be rare, candid video footage of the late music icon Prince Rogers Nelson. The drive was discovered tucked inside the cassette compartment of a vintage boombox purchased at a thrift store in the Williamsburg neighborhood. The finder discovered the drive accidentally after bringing the electronics home. Upon checking the contents, they found a series of video files featuring Prince. The drive itself is marked with a specific four-digit number written in permanent marker, which the finder believes is the key to verifying the true owner.

They look like personal or unreleased moments of Prince Rogers Nelson that someone would be devastated to lose. Because the history of the Prince estate has been marked by complex legal battles, the finder is turning to the public to help track down the individual who donated the boombox or the person who may have left the drive behind. To prevent fraudulent claims, the claimant will be required to identify the four-digit number written on the physical drive and describe the other files stored on the device.

I have uploaded a call for information on a YouTube channel that has recently been created encouraging anyone with information about the boombox's origin or the drive's contents to reach out.
