Fintech industry veterans launch GetBertie, an automated bookkeeping platform for digital artisans

LONDON - May 13, 2026 - PRLog -- London, UK - 06.05.26. Three fintech industry veterans - Nigel Verdon, Dan Bruce and Neil Martin - have launched GetBertie, an automated bookkeeping platform built directly for the digital artisan economy.

GetBertie is developing the self-assembly bookkeeping market, helping digital artisans, including SaaS creators, Amazon KDP creators and Indie-hackers, win back their weekends and evenings. The objective is to free digital artisans from the stress and distraction of bookkeeping so they can focus on their craft and their families.

The platform, built around Bertie Bookkeeper, aims to eliminate the burden of manual bookkeeping entirely. The future belongs, believes the founder team, to self-assembling bookkeeping, built around the artisan, not the accountant, automatically transforming a messy digital carrier bag of unsorted revenue reports, subscription invoices and bank statements into beautiful financial records.

GetBertie's main feature, says the team, is its deep integration and knowledge of digital artisan platforms, including Stripe, Amazon KDP and Google Workspace. It eliminates the tedious platform-specific calculations for gross and net revenue; the cost of goods sold; international taxes; and many more tricky bookkeeping gotchas. These are all processed without requiring the digital artisan to learn accounting or spreadsheets.

Bertie Bookkeeper sets out to deliver pioneering features such as connect-and-forget linking, automated business expense matching, real-time financial books and records, and the one-click accountant.

GetBertie is the first business out of the First Feature Business Building Studio, co-founded in 2025 by Verdon, Bruce and Martin.
