![]() Plight of the Pollinator | Art Installation by Stephanie BrockwayStep into a fantastical garden where large floating mechanical bees remind us of the key role that pollinators play in our ecosystems.
By: Imperfecta Gallery With more than 3,500 native species, bees help increase crop yields. Scientists estimate that one out of every three bites of food we eat exists because of pollinators like bees, butterflies, moths, birds, bats, beetles and other insects. As the artist explains: "Their contribution is significant! Made from found objects and oddities, including giant tin globes, metals, wood, glass & salvaged scraps, the bees in this installation are intentionally larger in scale, to make viewers feel smaller, while encouraging playful reflection and questioning. The installation debuts on June 4, with an Opening Reception from 5 to 8pm. Gallery Opening Hours: Wednesday to Saturday, 11am to 5pm – EXCEPT first Wednesdays (closed) and first Thursdays (open 5-8pm only). The gallery is located at 809 NW Flanders st, Portland OR.
