Where and When It Happens The festival is held in the ancient city of Lopburi, which is around 150 kilometers north of Bangkok in Thailand. The occasion normally happens along the well-known Phra Prang Sam Yot temple, an ancient temple that has accommodated a big number of monkeys. The Monkey Buffet Festival is celebrated every year on the last Sunday of November.
