IP2Location Introduces SES/AIC Classification for Enhanced AI Crawler Detection

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - April 13, 2026 - PRLog -- IP2Location today announced the introduction of a new proxy classification, SES/AIC (Search Engine Spider / AI Crawler), aimed at improving the identification of AI-driven web crawlers and automated data collection tools.

With the rapid growth of AI technologies and automated agents, distinguishing between legitimate users and AI crawlers has become increasingly important for businesses. The new SES/AIC classification enhances IP intelligence by identifying IP addresses associated with AI crawlers, while also categorizing them under data center proxies.

As part of this update, the IP2Proxy database now includes a new proxy type, AIC, and in the IP2Location.io Security Plan API. This function returns True when an IP address is identified as both an AI crawler and a data center proxy, providing users with a simple and effective way to detect and manage AI-driven traffic.
