PPGJLI Launches Campaign to Donate 12,000 Books and Expand Literacy AccessBy: Planting People Growing Justice Institute In 2025, PPGJLI engaged 801 students and community members, donated 9,284 diverse books, published 74 authors across 10 books, partnered with 106 organizations, and supported 8 interns. The organization has earned Candid's Platinum Seal of Transparency, placing it among the top 1% of charities nationwide. However, the literacy crisis persists. 43 million adults and 25 million children lack essential reading skills, and 70% of low-income fourth graders are not reading proficiently.
