PRLog -- A recent investment in the latest hot air plastic welding kit, combined with the experience of their plastic fabrication teams has enabled West Bromwich-based acrylic fabricator Wrights Plastics expand their inhouse services to include polypropylene welding.
Polypropylene welding is a controlled thermal fusion process where both the base material and a compatible PP welding rod are heated and bonded together. As the materials soften, they intermix and solidify into a single continuous structure once cooled.
Unlike gluing plastics together, the joint is not an attachment — it becomes part of the material itself. This creates Liquid-tight seams, chemical-resistant joint, high impact strength, hygienic, cleanable surfaces and long-term durability in harsh environments. The technique has many uses including
- Plastic tank fabrication. Thermoplastics tanks. Storage Tanks
- Polypropylene drums
- Pipe and tube welding in plumbing and industrial projects
- Aquaculture construction and repair
- Joining plastic sheets and components in various construction applications
A spokesperson for the company said "We are delighted to add yet another service offering to our fabrication services. Keeping as much as possible inhouse ensures we maintain exceptional quality control, reduce manufacturing time and lower costs.
