Yet the perspectives of nurses—those closest to patient care—are often missing from national conversations about workforce sustainability, access to care, and public health priorities. The Report for Duty Rally is designed to elevate those voices. Participants will take part in a two-day convening that includes leadership alignment, public engagement, and educational meetings with policymakers on Capitol Hill. The gathering will focus on four priority areas central to the Nurses SHIFT Change mission:
Activities will begin with an evening leadership and advocacy briefing on May 6, followed by the national rally and educational meetings with policymakers on May 7. "Nurses see firsthand how healthcare policy and system decisions affect patients and communities," Nurses SHIFT Change was founded to mobilize nurses and allies committed to improving healthcare systems and supporting healthier communities.
