PRLog -- Today,
Gregory Fuher, a highly decorated senior manager and U.S. Navy veteran, officially announced his candidacy for Seat 2 of the Pasco County Mosquito Control District (PCMCD) Board of Commissioners. As the 2026 election marks the first cycle where Seat 2 directly represents the
Zephyrhills and East Pasco subdistrict, Fuher is pledging to bring 20+ years of mission-critical leadership and fiscal oversight to the district.
With a background spanning military service on the USS
Abraham Lincoln, law enforcement, and senior executive management, Fuher offers a unique "readiness-first"
approach to public health. He intends to leverage his deep expertise in manpower analysis and operational planning to modernize the district's response to mosquito-borne threats.
"Pasco County is growing rapidly, and our mosquito mitigation strategies must be as disciplined and data driven as a military operation," said
Fuher. "My career has been defined by leading large teams through complex, high-stakes environments—
from flight decks to correctional facilities to multi-million-
dollar business operations. I am running to ensure that East Pasco taxpayers receive a maximum return on their investment through transparency, efficiency, and cutting-edge science."
The Fuher "Readiness & Responsibility" Platform Includes: - Operational Readiness: Applying military-grade contingency planning to ensure the district is prepared for seasonal surges and emerging health risks.
- Fiscal Accountability: Utilizing 20 years of experience in budgeting and resource allocation to conduct a "Top-to-Bottom" review of the district's $25 million budget, ensuring funds are prioritized for field operations rather than administrative bloat.
- Advanced Mitigation Technology: Scaling the use of drone-based larviciding to stop mosquitoes before they hatch, drawing on a career spent enforcing safety and policy compliance in regulated environments.
- Leadership with Integrity: Bringing the core values of a Navy veteran and former Law Enforcement Officer to the Board to ensure honest, transparent communication with Zephyrhills and Wesley Chapel residents.
"I've spent my life being accountable for people, property, and missions," Fuher added. "I look forward to being accountable to the voters of Seat 2 and keeping our community safe, healthy, and fiscally sound."
