Founded by Frederica Roberson in memory of her son, Marquavies "Qua" Bernard Broughton, the foundation was created after Qua tragically lost his life at age 21 due to nitazene poisoning. Determined to prevent other families from experiencing this devastating loss, Roberson established the organization to educate communities, advocate for policy change, and support families navigating grief. The Partnership for Purpose 5K Walk/Run will feature a community race, remembrance activities, youth engagement, educational resources, vendor booths, and community partnerships focused on prevention and awareness. "This event represents more than just a race," said Frederica Roberson, founder of The Marquavies Bernard Broughton Foundation. "It is a movement to turn pain into purpose. We want to educate our communities, protect our youth, and save lives through awareness and prevention." Participants can register to run or walk, volunteer, become a vendor, or support the event through sponsorship. The event welcomes families, community organizations, healthcare professionals, educators, and advocates who are committed to addressing the substance poisoning crisis impacting communities across the nation. The Marquavies Bernard Broughton Foundation's mission is simple yet powerful: Saving One Life at a Time through education, awareness, advocacy, and compassionate support for families impacted by substance poisoning.
