Notice No. 2026-009 was issued on January 8, 2026, containing several important proposed changes to the country's 'Standards and Specifications for Utensils, Containers and Packages' (Ministry of Food and Drug Safety Notice No. 2024-29) for these products, which are regulated under South Korea's Food Sanitation Act to protect end users from the potential presence of toxic/harmful chemicals.

- The establishment of standards for recycled polypropylene (PP) as a raw material

Comments on the proposals in Notice No. 2026-009 will be accepted until March 9, 2026.
