![]() Bass-baritone Joseph Parrish to Perform at Weinberg Center Joined by Downtown Frederick's AsburyThe first half of the program will feature Parrish accompanied by his pianist, performing songs ranging from classical to pop to gospel. Following intermission, Parrish will return before the AUMC Choir takes the stage, accompanied by pianist Roderick Demmings, Jr. The night will conclude with collaborative performances featuring both Parrish and the AUMC Choir, celebrating the rich musical traditions that shape everyone on stage. Tickets start at $25 and may be purchased online, by calling the box office, or in person. Discounts are available for students, children, military personnel, and seniors. Winner of the 2022 Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions, Parrish is a Baltimore native and holds degrees from the University of Cincinnati College–Conservatory of Music and The Juilliard School. Recent operatic credits include Dulcamara in L'elisir d'amore and Augure in L'Orfeo at Juilliard, Spinelloccio in Gianni Schicchi with Festival Napa Valley, and Le Baron de Pictordu in the City Lyric Opera's production of Cendrillon. Parrish also maintains an active concert career, performing with orchestras and in recitals at prestigious venues such as the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine and both Weill Recital Hall and Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall. The Frederick, MD, chapter of AUMC is one of the oldest African American churches in the area, with roots dating back to 1818. For close to two centuries, the church has been a place of worship open to all. Led by Reverend Mark Allen Groover, AUMC is currently located at 101 W. All Saints St. Frederick, MD.
