PRLog -- PT Wijaya Karya Beton Tbk lifted its sustainability profile on the global stage after securing an Environmental, Social and Governance score of 71 out of 100 in the latest S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment. The result puts the Indonesian concrete maker in the top bracket of construction materials companies worldwide and bolsters its position among international peers.
The score of 71 places WIKA Beton in the top quintile, or around the top 13% of global companies in its sector, a sharp rise from 46 a year earlier and close to double the industry average of 38. The jump follows a strategic overhaul launched in 2024, when the company adopted a new vision as "A Trusted Global Sustainable Company Providing Solutions in the Concrete Industry" and refreshed its corporate identity to bring sustainability closer to the core of its business.
"The ESG score of 71, which is above the global industry average, shows that our implementation of sustainability principles has become a source of value creation and competitiveness,"
President Director Kuntjara said. "We position ESG as a business strategy to support long-term performance and strengthen stakeholder trust."
Part of the Danantara and state-owned enterprise ecosystem, WIKA Beton aims to keep building sustainable value by tightening corporate governance, accelerating its climate strategy, improving energy efficiency and expanding its portfolio of low-carbon concrete solutions. The company says it will continue to position itself as a trusted partner in developing inclusive, sustainable and globally competitive infrastructure.
