COLCHESTER, U.K. - Feb. 10, 2026 - PRLog -- A Colchester based neurodevelopmental assessment and post diagnostic support service has been recognised on the national stage after being named a finalist in the inaugural Neurodiverse Business Awards, a UK wide awards programme celebrating organisations and individuals driving meaningful neuroinclusion across the workforce.

Sensational Minds, which is based in Colchester and supports children, young people, families and adults across the UK, was shortlisted from more than 400 national nominations. In addition to its clinical and post diagnostic work, Sensational Minds delivers an excellence consultancy pathway supporting employers and organisations to create genuinely inclusive and neuro aware workplaces.

The organisation has been nominated within the Campaign or Initiative of the Year category and its founder and CEO, Rhiann Marchant, has also been shortlisted for the Young Leader of the Year Award.

An estimated 15-20% of the population is neurodivergent, yet neurodivergent people remain significantly underrepresented in employment. Just 56% of the working age neurodivergent population are in full time work, falling to 31% for autistic people.

Sensational Minds is known for its high standards across neurodevelopmental assessment, post diagnostic support and employer consultancy. The service works with businesses to improve understanding of neurodivergence and to design environments where neurodivergent people can thrive. The consultancy model goes beyond minimum or gold standard requirements, recognising the long term impact that workplace understanding, or misunderstanding, can have on individuals' wellbeing, confidence and careers.

Commenting on the shortlisting, Rhiann Marchant, founder and CEO of Sensational Minds, said:

"To see a Colchester business recognised at a national level like this is incredibly meaningful. These Awards exist because the employment gap for neurodivergent people is still unacceptably wide and because inclusion is too often treated as a tick box exercise rather than something that genuinely changes people's experiences."

The Neurodiverse Business Awards received more than 400 nominations in their inaugural year. Finalists were selected by an independent judging panel made up of senior leaders and neurodiversity advocates from organisations including Meta, Accenture, the BBC, Lloyds Banking Group, Microsoft, the NHS and the Royal Navy.

Winners will be announced at a gala ceremony in London on 18th March 2026.
