ST. PAUL, Minn. - Jan. 25, 2026 - PRLog -- Saint Paul, MN — The Planting People Growing Justice Leadership Institute (PPGJLI), in partnership with Hennepin County through FORTIFY, hosted an educational workshop at Ascension Catholic School, focusing on climate education, STEM learning, and youth empowerment.

The workshop featured guest author Dr. Artika Tyner, Executive Director of Planting People Growing Justice Leadership Institute, who engaged students in an interactive discussion about climate change, environmental responsibility, and the role young people can play in creating a more resilient future. Students learned practical, age-appropriate ways they can make a difference in their homes, schools, and communities, from conserving energy to caring for the environment.

As part of the event, cases of climate- and STEM-related books were donated to Ascension Catholic School, expanding access to educational resources that support literacy, science learning, and environmental awareness. The book donation reflects PPGJLI's commitment to combining literacy with climate education to inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and action among youth.

This workshop aligns with FORTIFY's focus on community education and climate resilience by building knowledge early and empowering students with tools to understand and respond to climate challenges.
