Blocking ICE Recruiters From Law Schools, GWU CampusIn addition,Two New Concerning Immigration Enforcement Tactics
Also, activist students at George Washington University [GWU] and probably elsewhere are demanding that campuses go far beyond mere "sanctuary campuses" to becoming completely ICE-free campuses, reports public interest law professor John Banzhaf of GWU. More specifically they demand that GWU - which has been labeled a "Campus Under Siege" - "Ban ICE, MPD, and all other external immigration and law enforcement from our campus and refuse these agencies access to campus without a judicial warrant." Ironically, in another move guaranteed to increase the growing resistance movement, immigration enforcement agents are being told - based upon a secret memo - that they no longer need a warrant signed by a judge to enter even a private home, and they are being trained to break down doors if necessary, notes Banzhaf. Finally, many home owners who have installed a Ring doorbell camera on their front doors - where they often provide an unobstructed view of the street and cars passing by - may be shocked if not outraged to learn that ICE has access to many of those images. Activists charge that "YOUR RING CAMERA IS AN ICE AGENT." JOHN F. BANZHAF III, B.S.E.E., J.D., Sc.D.
