| Barcolana Trophy Celebrates Its Premiere at boot Düsseldorf 2026By: concepts4u The Barcolana Trophy award ceremony took place on 20 January 2026 as part of boot Düsseldorf 2026. The ceremony was jointly hosted by Karlheinz Jungbeck, President of ADAC Tourism, and Dean Bassi, Vice President of the Società Velica di Barcola e Grignano, who presented the awards to the successful German skippers of the 57th Barcolana. Fortunato Moratto and Stefano Sponza, Managing Directors of FVG Marinas, also played a central role, complementing the ADAC awards with a special prize: three free transit nights in the marinas of Friuli Venezia Giulia for the winning crews. This visibly underlined the close connection between the regatta, the region and the nautical network of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The Barcolana is regarded as the largest sailing regatta in the world. Every October, thousands of boats line up on the 13-nautical- Since 2019, ADAC has awarded the ADAC Trophy to the fastest German boat in the overall classification. A key role in this context is played by FVG Marinas. The cooperation of 21 marinas with around 7,500 berths in Friuli Venezia Giulia regards the Barcolana as a showcase for the region's maritime expertise. Fortunato Moratto, himself a sailor with experience in the Whitbread Race and one of the Managing Directors of FVG Marinas as well as Marina Manager of Shipyard & Marina Sant'Andrea, describes the regatta as "a highlight of the sailing year and, at the same time, a true celebration of sailing." The recognition of German crews demonstrates how deeply the Barcolana is rooted among German-speaking sailors. Stefano Sponza, Managing Director of FVG Marinas for the Trieste and Muggia area and Head of Marina Porto San Rocco, adds: "We would like to invite the winners to get to know our region even better and are therefore offering three free transit nights in our marinas as an additional incentive." At the most recent Barcolana57, the Barcolana Trophy for German sailors was won by the yacht Calabash from the Elbe Regatta Club, helmed by Michael Schmidt, founder of HanseYachts. The award ceremony at boot Düsseldorf 2026 thus combines sporting recognition with tangible perspectives in the sailing grounds of Friuli Venezia Giulia, supported by FVG Marinas as the region's nautical network on site. http://www.FVGMarinas.com End
