EVERETT, Wash. - Jan. 16, 2026 - PRLog -- Daryl Guberman, a 40-year aerospace quality specialist and Boeing shareholder, is calling attention to long-standing gaps in Boeing's quality and certification practices that have critical implications for the aviation industry. In a new statement, Guberman reveals that Boeing demanded strict AS9100 certification from suppliers for more than 20 years, starting in July 2002, while the company itself remained uncertified—a structural failure in the safety net meant to protect pilots, flying public, insurers, investors. Boeing built over 12,000 commerical & 400+ Military aircraft is an UNCERTIFIED AS9100 environment. This system includes Ethiopian & Indonesian airlines, AIRFORCE 1(new aircraft) and Alaska Air 1282.

AS9100 is the aerospace industry's gold standard for quality, requiring rigorous processes in configuration management, system-level risk control, special process verification, traceability, and disciplined corrective action. Guberman emphasizes that these clauses exist to ensure that from raw materials to a finished aircraft, every handoff is managed under the same disciplined system, reducing the risk of hidden defects, falsified records, or unsafe design decisions.

Between 2014 and 2024, Boeing sat on the ANAB Management System Accreditation Committee, the body responsible for granting, suspending, or withdrawing AS9100 certifications—despite the fact that Boeing itself was not certified. Compounding the issue, the Boeing representative on this committee also served as Chairman of the International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) and, in 2012, issued a memo warning that unaccredited certificates were migrating into the accreditation system. Guberman notes the stark irony: Boeing was shaping certification standards while not complying with them itself, creating a false impression of oversight for investors such as BlackRock, State Street, Fidelity, and Vanguard, for logistics companies including DHL, FedEx, UPS, and Amazon, and for the general flying public.

On June 27, 2024, Boeing Vice President of Quality Elizabeth Lund told Reuters that the company was "willing and prepared" to obtain AS9100 and claimed it was conducting internal audits "as though certified." However, in October 2024, Guberman visited Boeing facilities in Everett, Renton, Auburn, and Northfield. His investigation revealed that employees were largely unaware of AS9100 standards or internal audits, some were denied mandatory training to keep production on schedule, and critical documentation of each aircraft's life cycle—from receipt of materials to delivery—was missing from job packets.

This press release aims to raise awareness about the systemic risks in aircraft certification and Boeing's historical 23 year not having AS9100-misalignment between supplier enforcement and its own compliance. Guberman encourages the flying public, investors, logistics planners, and insurers to scrutinize documentation, audits, and corporate practices to ensure safety and accountability remain paramount.

40 Year Quality Expert & Boeing Shareholder Daryl Guberman- Poses A Most Important Question: HOW CAN ANYONE TRUST THE SAFETY OF 12,000 COMMERCIAL PLANES, 400+ MILITARY AIRCRAFT, AND AIR FORCE ONE BUILT IN AN UNVERIFIED AND UNCERTIFIED ENVIRONMENT—FOR OVER 20+ YEARS AND WHAT WILL BE DONE TO FIX THIS CATASTROPHE?
