| Professor Sophie Daniels to release Peaceful Warrior album on 30th JanuaryAlbum release marks the two year anniversary of the UK Government's misogyny in music report
By: Www.spring2studios.com Peaceful Warrior is a feminist song cycle and the second album released as Liberty's Mother. While the first Liberty's Mother EP, released in 2019, was an awareness raising and charitable project supporting baby loss awareness, Peaceful Warrior is a war cry. The album speaks to the collective grief of a generation of women navigating patriarchy, motherhood, and a cultural landscape in which misogyny remains deeply embedded. The album is intentionally aligned with the anniversary of the UK Government's misogyny in music report, which was shaped by evidence from women across the industry. Sophie was one of the contributors who gave evidence to the inquiry, bringing her perspective as a songwriter, academic, and feminist educator. Peaceful Warrior responds to the same questions explored through policy and testimony, translating them into lived, emotional songwriting. Alongside her work as an artist, Sophie is an Associate Professor of Songwriting and Head of School for Music Performance and Creation at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance. She is Programme Leader for ICMP's Masters in Songwriting and a Principal Fellow of Advance HE. Her professorship was awarded in recognition of her pioneering work in songwriting education. Sophie is a regular contributor to BBC Radio 6 Music and an experienced public speaker, having delivered keynote lectures internationally on songwriting, wellbeing, gender equality, and creative practice. She is a Director of The F List, serves on the Advisory Board of She Writes Songs, and is an external examiner for music degrees at two UK universities. Peaceful Warrior will be available on all major streaming platforms from Friday 30th January.
