BK42 Cycles Reimagines a 1939 Göricke Motorcycle as a Sustainable, Zero-Emission Electric Bicycle

WARSAW, Poland - Jan. 1, 2026 - PRLog -- BK42 Cycles announces the launch of a unique restoration and conversion project centered on an original 1939 Göricke motorcycle frame, fuel tank, and front fork, rescued from the scrapyard and transformed into a high-quality, vintage-style electric bicycle.

At the core of the project is a strong focus on recycling, sustainability, and clean mobility. Instead of restoring the motorcycle as a combustion-powered vehicle, BK42 Cycles is converting it into a pollution-free electric bicycle, extending the life of historic components while eliminating local emissions entirely.

"This project is about giving existing materials a second life," says Guilherme Myr, founder of BK42 Cycles. "Recycling is not just a design choice here—it's the foundation. We're proving that heritage, sustainability, and modern mobility can coexist in a meaningful way."

Vintage Design, Modern Technology
While the finished electric bicycle will retain an unmistakably vintage aesthetic, it will discreetly integrate state-of-the-art technology to meet modern expectations for safety, usability, and connectivity.

Key features planned for the final build include:
  • Integrated GPS navigation displayed on the main cockpit screen
  • Bluetooth connectivity for ride data, diagnostics, and performance monitoring
  • Brake cut-off sensors for enhanced riding safety
  • App-based activation and electronic locking system
  • A clean, fully integrated electrical system designed to remain visually unobtrusive
All modern systems are being carefully hidden or styled to preserve the historic character of the original 1939 components.

Dual Riding Modes: Road Legal and Off-Road
The electric bicycle is being engineered with two selectable operating systems:
  • A fully EU-compliant mode, meeting all current electric bicycle regulations for legal road use
  • A second off-road mode, intended exclusively for private property or off-road riding
This dual-system approach allows the project to remain legally compliant while offering additional performance capabilities outside public-road use.

A Serialized Restoration Series
The complete restoration and conversion process will be documented as a weekly, chapter-based video series on YouTube. Inspired by long-form, Netflix-style real-life restoration shows, each episode will explore a specific phase of the project, including historical research, design development, frame restoration, electrification, system integration, and the final reveal.

The series is designed as evergreen content, offering long-term value to viewers interested in electric mobility, custom bicycles, restoration, and sustainable engineering.

Availability
The first episode will premiere on the BK42 Cycles YouTube channel in March 2026, followed by weekly episode releases.
