Symphony steps into the New Year with a 'Rainbow' of Chamber Music

DALLAS - Jan. 6, 2026 - PRLog -- The New Texas Symphony Orchestra (NTSO), Dallas' premier all-volunteer community orchestra, opens the new year with a winter chamber concert, 'A Rainbow of Music' on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Oak Lawn United Methodist Church.

Under the direction of Dr. Michelle Perrin Blair, NTSO's Artistic Director, the concert will feature a vibrant program of classical and contemporary works that celebrate the beauty of diversity, unity, and hope for the year ahead.

The program begins with Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's Piano Trio No. 2 in C minor, Op. 66, a dramatic and passionate work that sets the tone for an afternoon of inspiration. Other highlights include Jeremy Cohen's Tango Eight, Wilhelm Berger's String Trio, Op. 69, and Lior Navok's Quartet for Flute, Clarinet, Bassoon, and Harp. The concert will conclude with two movements from Franz Schubert's Octet in F major, D. 803, a masterful and lively work.

"Music has the profound ability to unite us and remind us of the beauty in diversity. With this concert, we aim to celebrate the many colors of humanity through the universal language of music," said Dr. Blair.

As with all NTSO events, this chamber concert is free and open to the public, reflecting the orchestra's mission to make live music accessible to everyone.
