Oceans 5 Gili Air Launches Instructor Training Courses Under a New Dive Organization Starting February
Oceans 5 Gili Air, one of Indonesia's most established instructor training centres, proudly announces the launch of its instructor training courses under a new international dive training organization, starting
February.
While the certification agency name will change, Oceans 5 Gili Air emphasizes that the
core philosophy, people, and quality standards remain exactly the same.
A New Chapter — Not a New DirectionFor over a decade, Oceans 5 Gili Air has built its reputation on
quality over quantity, small instructor candidate groups, strong environmental awareness, and producing confident, employable dive instructors.
The move to a new dive organization reflects a
strategic evolution, not a break from the past. The decision allows Oceans 5 to streamline course structures, modernize learning methods, and keep instructor training aligned with how diving is taught and practiced today—without compromising standards.
What Will Change? - New certification agency
From February, instructor training courses will be conducted under a different internationally recognized dive organization (not PADI). - Shorter course duration
Instructor training courses will now run over 16 days instead of 20, based on the updated curriculum of the new organization. - Fully integrated digital learning
Theory components will be more efficiently delivered through modern online platforms, allowing more focus on practical teaching skills. - More accessible pricing
The new instructor training courses, https://www.oceans5dive.com, be more affordable, lowering the barrier for candidates without reducing training quality.
What Stays Exactly the Same? - The same instructor trainers
Oceans 5 continues with its two in-house instructor trainers, both on payroll and present throughout the entire course. - The same team and management
Managers, instructors, divemasters, boat crew, compressor staff, and support team all remain unchanged. - Small group sizes
Instructor training courses remain limited to small groups, ensuring personal coaching and individual development. - Environmental philosophy
Neutral buoyancy teaching, no-touch diving, and marine park awareness remain deeply embedded in the curriculum. - Focus on confident instructors — not just exam passes
The goal remains the same: producing instructors who are ready to teach independently anywhere in the world.
Looking AheadWith nine instructor training courses planned for the year ahead, Oceans 5 Gili Air remains committed to shaping the next generation of dive instructors—
ethical, skilled, environmentally aware, and ready for the real world.
The sign on the wall may change.
The faces, philosophy, and quality will not.
