Compact System-on-Module for space-saving display integration in embedded systems
 
MUNICH - Dec. 18, 2025 - PRLog -- Display & Control GmbH, a specialist in innovative display solutions, introduces the new SC-SOM-2K System-on-Module (SoM). This compact, pluggable module integrates all functions of an LCD-TFT controller and enables seamless integration into applications without external controller boards or complex cabling – significantly reducing development time and system costs. It is complemented by the SC-Carrier-2K carrier/evaluation board, which provides a comprehensive platform for development, testing, and integration.

The SC-SOM-2K is based on the Realtek RTD2556QR chip and supports display resolutions from 640x480 to 2560x1600. It is specifically designed for embedded systems in industrial automation, kiosk and POS systems, as well as digital signage, where space savings and flexibility are required. The accompanying CFD software (Compile-Free Display Adaptation) allows adaptation to any display without programming knowledge, as well as firmware programming during design and production phases.

  • Video inputs: HDMI 1.4 / DisplayPort 1.2 up to 2560x1600@60 Hz with audio support
  • Video outputs: LVDS (up to 1920x1200) or eDP (1-4 lanes, up to 2560x1600) including display and backlight control
  • Single +5V power supply
  • OSD keypad and DDC/CI support
  • Audio output and peripheral support (temperature, gyro, ambient light)
  • CFD tool for display adaptation without software knowledge
