Anaxee Partners with Leading FMCG Company to Strengthen Agroforestry Verification

INDORE, India - Dec. 18, 2025 - PRLog -- Anaxee Digital Runners has partnered with a leading FMCG company to carry out large-scale verification of agroforestry plantations, using technology-led field surveys to improve accuracy in tree counting, biomass estimation, and sustainability reporting.

The engagement focuses on building verifiable, on-ground datasets across plantation sites, addressing a long-standing challenge in agroforestry programs: the gap between planned impact and measurable outcomes. As corporate environmental disclosures face increasing scrutiny, the partnership reflects a broader shift toward evidence-based monitoring.

Moving Beyond Estimates

Agroforestry initiatives play a key role in supporting rural livelihoods and environmental goals, but many rely on sampling methods or secondary estimates that can lead to inconsistencies. In this project, Anaxee was tasked with developing a defensible dataset by documenting plantations at the tree level.

Instead of extrapolating from sample plots, the company implemented a full enumeration approach, capturing GPS coordinates and photographic evidence for each verified tree. This method improves traceability and reduces the risk of over- or under-reporting.

Verification Methodology

Field surveys followed a structured framework designed to improve consistency and data integrity. Farm boundaries were mapped using geospatial techniques, while individual trees were geotagged and categorized by species and plantation year.

Diameter at Breast Height (DBH) measurements were taken using standard forestry practices, along with height sampling to support biomass calculations. All field data was uploaded to a centralized digital platform, enabling real-time quality checks across locations.

Key Findings

The surveys covered thousands of trees across multiple villages and farms. In addition to newly planted saplings, existing farmer-managed trees were also documented—assets that are often overlooked in plantation records.

The data revealed variations between expected plantation counts and trees verified on the ground, reinforcing the importance of tree-level validation. Species-wise analysis provided insights into growth patterns, irrigation methods, and harvesting cycles, while biomass estimates were derived directly from field measurements.

Digital Outputs and Reporting

Following the fieldwork, Anaxee delivered a set of digital outputs designed for audit readiness and long-term monitoring. These included interactive geospatial maps, species-wise dashboards showing DBH and biomass distribution, consolidated datasets, and GPS-linked photo archives.

The structure allows sustainability teams to review performance at multiple levels, from regional overviews to individual farm records, supporting more accurate planning and reporting.

Toward Evidence-Based Climate Action

The partnership highlights a broader shift in corporate sustainability practices, where verification and data integrity are becoming central to program design. As ESG and climate-linked reporting frameworks evolve, companies are increasingly expected to demonstrate measurable, on-ground outcomes rather than projected impact.

By integrating trained field teams with digital workflows, Anaxee's model enables large-scale verification across rural landscapes- signaling a move toward sustainability initiatives grounded in verifiable, field-based evidence.
