Parents' Quirky Christmas Messages Theme of "The Pilot and the Parrot"

Print and Digital Versions of "The Pilot and the Parrot" Available, Audiobook Version Coming in Early 2026

COURTENAY COMOX, British Columbia - Dec. 18, 2025 - PRLog -- Christmas brings many families together. The Pilot and the Parrot is a fictional account of the Foerster family's annual international get-together. Traditionally, Martin and Sophie Foerster, parents of three middle-aged siblings with teenage children of their own, create a thoughtful recorded Christmas message for the family. The last few years however, their taped contributions were sent to the children while the elders holidayed elsewhere. But this Christmas hints at a break in the customs. Closely guarded secrets  were being primed for disclosure at just the right time.

Messages give meaning to those reflecting, as is evident in the way the story characters communicate. Frederick, the pilot, projects calm and confidence by virtue of his highly structured aviation English. Maria, a university professor, is skilled at encouraging thought, fair play and logic. As a marijuana grow operator with issues, the language of Marcus, the youngest, speaks of his many unconventional ideas. With the current way of the world and worrying headlines about the profound power of communication felt daily, the missives of The Pilot and the Parrot are intentionally pensive and timely.

Mirrors reflect messages. Who knows this better than teenagers? Those in the story point to a troubled world full of mixed messages, often hard to decipher and even more difficult to digest. For all the time spent studying ones' self, what is it about the select few who respond to messages in much the same way as a mirror reflects images - in reverse? Figure that.

Songs written for the audiobook version (spring, 2026) contribute emotional depth."The Eve 'Fore Christmas" captures the profound joy and giddiness of children and elders alike still pandering to the best in us all. "Another Year's Over" opens with the yearning the sounds of peace will be heard above the guns. In the "Epiphanies" song, the spirit has a say. Other tunes move to the vibes of the scenes and characters. A year with the Foersters reverberates in the messages, scenes and songs of this production, second of the trilogy.

More than 50 well-known distributors carry James Allan Krause's first two in the series, including Kobo, Spotify, Google, Audible and Libro.fm. And Wetion (2nd edn), first of the audiobook, is available for a listen through the Library and Archives of Canada in Ottawa.

The company respectfully acknowledges the land on which the audiobook musical was completed is the unceded traditional territory of the K'ómoks First Nation, traditional keepers of the place.
