Francesco Antonio Palmieri Releases His Debut Supernatural Horror Novel

Set on the mist-covered shores of Lake Derwentwater, the novel follows a group of characters confronted with an unexplained phenomenon during a weekend overshadowed by rain and dense fog. The environment itself becomes an active force in the story, shaping the growing sense of unease and guiding the narrative toward its darker revelations.

Palmieri's storytelling favors atmosphere over explicit violence. Horror emerges gradually, through ambiguous perceptions, emotional shadows and the weight of the environment. His approach echoes works such as The Ritualand It Comes at Night, where the unseen and the unspoken drive the tension.

Author's Statement
"This novel came from a nightmare: a figure standing in the fog, a face I didn't recognize, and a presence waiting in silence. Writing was my way of following that image and understanding what it meant. If this story unsettles readers, it means that nightmare no longer belongs to me alone," says Francesco Antonio Palmieri.
