The Wright Enterprises Community Spotlight (WECS) TV Show, produced by Ken Johnson and Will Hammond and emanating from the African American Art & Culture Complex (AAACC), featured celebrated filmmaker, playwright, and cultural visionary Farah Dews, Ph.D. in one of its most dynamic recent episodes. His appearance offered an inspiring look into a lifetime of creativity, resilience, and service to the Bay Area community. The interview is now streaming on Channel 29 San Francisco and online at: https://youtu.be/ A Creative Force Rooted in Community Born in San Francisco in 1961, Dr. Dews began acting, dancing, and writing at an early age. He went on to become one of the most prolific independent creative forces in the Bay Area. His groundbreaking stage play "King Tut: The Boy Who Would Be King" became the first African American cast production about King Tut performed at the de Young Museum and other Bay Area venues. A Change Agent Recognized by the State of California Dr. Dews was honored with a California Senate Certificate of Recognition for his work in community empowerment, violence prevention, and youth advocacy.
