| The Grand Tour Kickstarter CampaignThe Grand Tour is a photobook that captures a six-month journey across Europe and the surprising environmental story found along its shores.
By: Jellop What started as a frantic, barely-packed road trip shared between a van, a good friend, and a loyal dog became a turning point. "We had no destination. It was fun, fraught, and fantastic. It was an adventure," the creator explains. What unfolded through the lens, however, became something deeper: a contrast between the serene rhythms of the ocean and the confronting reality of waste strewn along its shores. A Journey That Sparked a New Direction While documenting surf culture and coastlines, the photographer found himself drawn not only to beauty, but to what threatened it. Long-exposure images of rolling waves sit in tension with stark photographs of washed-up debris, revealing an emerging consciousness about human impact and environmental responsibility. "Looking back, I didn't know what my photography was trying to say at the time," he reflects. "But this project marks the moment I began to see." Why Print Now? Although the journey happened years ago, releasing this book today is an act of confidence, growth, and commitment to environmental storytelling. With experience in photography, publishing, and sustainability, the creator is ready to transform this early milestone into a beautifully crafted, eco-conscious physical object, one that represents what dedication and belief can achieve. Production Cost: £3,543.00 Post-production, editing, and layout are already complete. After funding, the final cover design and finishing touches will be prepared before going to print. Choosing Ashley House ensures that every book produced contributes to protecting endangered habitats and reducing carbon impact aligned with the project's deeper message of conscious living and coastal stewardship. The Kickstarter Campaign Funds raised will support: i. Final design and finishing ii. Printing and binding iii. Fulfilment iv. Keeping the retail price accessible (£10–£15) For supporters and collectors of photobooks, surf culture, environmental storytelling, or sustainable print, The Grand Tour offers a powerful, visually rich narrative about connection, self-discovery, and the fragile balance of our coastal environments.
