Ring in the Season with Free Holiday Jazz from The Jazz Sanctuary

Giving Tuesday opens a two-month period of matched giving to support the nonprofit's mission into 2026

PHILADELPHIA - Dec. 2, 2025 - PRLog -- As The Jazz Sanctuary closes out its 14th year of bringing free, live jazz to communities across the Greater Philadelphia region, Founder & Executive Director Alan Segal announced that the nonprofit performing arts organization has now presented 937 events since its inception -- and is preparing for a major milestone ahead.

"With 937 events behind us, we're already looking ahead to a big milestone -- our 1,000th concert in 2026," said Segal. "We know it will take some elbow grease and a full calendar to get there, but we also know we won't do it alone. December and January are matching months, and every gift -- large or small -- brings us closer to that 1,000th event and helps keep this music free and accessible to everyone."

This year's efforts are underscored by Giving Tuesday on Dec. 2, 2025, a global day of generosity that kicks off the holiday season of charitable support. Segal emphasized that Giving Tuesday -- combined with The Jazz Sanctuary's two-month matching-gift opportunity -- provides a meaningful moment for supporters to help sustain and expand the nonprofit's mission.

To close out the year, The Jazz Sanctuary will present three free concerts in December, inviting audiences to join them for fellowship, community, and an evening of live jazz in intimate, welcoming settings throughout the region. All events are free and open to the public -- no tickets required. December's concert schedule for The Jazz Sanctuary includes:

Valley Forge Rd., Devon, PA 19333) -- The Jazz Sanctuary Quintet – James Dell'Orefice (piano), Eddie Etkins (saxophone), Leon Jordan Sr. (drums), Alan Segal (bass), and Randy Sutin (vibes/percussion) -- brings their popular "Jazz & Joe" series – featuring live music, coffee, soft drinks, and dessert treats – to the Main Line once again.
  • Thursday, Dec. 11, 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church (Routes 202 & 413, Buckingham, PA 18912) -- Another evening of "Jazz & Joe" featuring The Jazz Sanctuary Quintet, joined by special guest vocalist Paula Johns.
