LRP's National Institute Announces Seven Captivating Extended-Length Symposiums

Pre-Institute Symposiums will feature nationally esteemed experts to provide special education professionals with an in-depth analysis of significant challenges they face and strategies to handle each situation while avoiding compliance missteps.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Dec. 2, 2025 - PRLog -- LRP's National Institute on Legal Issues of Educating Individuals with Disabilities®, the leading source for best practices, compliance strategies, and case updates impacting special education programs, announced today seven Pre-Institute Symposiums. These extended-length offerings will dive into major issues in the field including IEP writing, disciplinary practices, transition planning, and more as part of the event taking place April 26 - 29 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, La.

Six half-day Pre-Institute Symposiums will be held on Sunday, April 26, in the morning and afternoon:

  • Smooth Sailing Ahead: Navigating Successful Transition Planning to Improve Postsecondary Outcomes presented by David Hodgins and Arlene Gonzalez, Thompson & Horton.
  • Discipline 'MythBusters': Debunking Common Misconceptions and Risky Practices with Kendra Yoch and Andrew Tatgenhorst, Thompson & Horton LLP.

The Pre-Institute Symposium, Marching Toward Mastery: Boot Camp for Writing Effective IEPs, presented by Cassie Black, Esq., and Stephanie Jones, Esq., with Kriha Boucek, will be a full-day session on Sunday starting at 9 a.m. and concluding at 4:30 p.m.
