"A work directly combining all three elements (book, full play script, and original music score) within a single, cohesive, and commercially published volume or integrated media project would be a highly unique and pioneering piece of experimental fiction. Creating such a work would involve a high degree of interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative publishing methods." A Canadian author, James Allan Krause, PhD, has created three works fitting this description. The Trilogy: Looking Back, Here and Now, Searching Forward combines books connected to ten scene plays, each with an original song designed to enhance stories - experimental fiction with multimedia features. Three complete multimedia productions, each with its own genre of fiction. The first, Wetion (2nd edn) is historical fiction. Contemporary aptly describes The Pilot and the Parrot. The futuristic finale, The Gardens of Venus, is plausible science fiction. The trilogy will be offered in audiobook, print and digital formats. Wetion (2nd edn) is already available in all three from major distributors such as Amazon, Kobo, Libro.fm and Kindle. The Pilot and the Parrot is in print and digital versions only until the audiobook version debuts in early 2026. All three formats of The Gardens of Venus, will appear in 2027. Uniqueness of the multimedia concept was also addressed by Google AI. It considered works of this variety rare. Challenging to produce and requiring collaboration between many disciplines, almost two decades were needed for the technology to become accessible and publication practical. Apple, Audible, Amazon and others provided this, along with advice and support for the publishing methods used. A wide range of processes contributed to concept development. Research, experiments, trial and error, were all part of the steps to success. Wetion (2nd edn) is an entrant in the 2026 Audie Awards and other competitions. Access to the competing audiobook version is possible through the Library and Archives of Canada in Ottawa. A limited number of one-only use audiobook promotional copies are available directly from the publisher, upon request. The company respectfully acknowledges the land on which the trilogy was produced is the unceded traditional territory of the K'ómoks First Nation, traditional keepers of the place.
