![]() TBI Survivor Addresses Trauma and Grief in New Book"To live with the mindset of excellence, wellness, and joy, we must have a courage that is not passive."
By: TMP Books Fett almost died when she was five years old, surviving an automobile accident but suffering from a traumatic brain injury, which took years of recovery that required perseverance, determination, and courage. Fett says, "In order to live with the mindset of excellence, wellness, and joy, we must have a courage that is not passive." Sharing her story took courage, too. "Writing this book led me to experience again each story that I shared, but from the other side. Some of the stories were still painful and difficult to tell, yet I felt it was my duty to be faithful to God in what He wanted me to do," Fett added. "Writing Live Life Courageously has been a soul-wrenching and cathartic experience. Now that I am on this side of publication, I feel more confident in my faith and a little stronger emotionally." Fett, originally from Farmington Hills, Michigan, is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who graduated from Duke University, Sigma Theta Tau. When she's not writing, the Connecticut resident loves to research, read, walk, dance, and spend time with family.
