By: Elite Ink An Army veteran and lifelong animal advocate, Jack is partnering with the Detroit Animal Welfare Group (DAWG), a Michigan-based nonprofit dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in need. The goal of this walk is to raise $12,000 to fund a new barn to house three rescue horses, providing them shelter, warmth, and care they have long been denied. "This walk is for those who can't take the steps themselves," About the Detroit Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) Based in Almont, Michigan, DAWG rescues hundreds of animals each year, from horses and livestock to dogs, cats, and wildlife. The organization provides shelter, medical care, and adoption services, giving animals a second chance at life. The new horse barn will expand DAWG's capacity to care for large animals in need, creating a lasting sanctuary for rescued equines. A Legacy of Impact Jack began his endurance walking mission in 2019, completing a 2,841-mile trek from Newport Beach, CA, to Tybee Island, GA to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
