| ![]() BCOP wins Care Home Employer of the Year for West Midlands region at Great British Care Awards 20By: BCOP (Broadening Choices for Older People) The charity was also named a finalist in two additional categories – Workforce Development Award and Outstanding Contribution to Social Care Award, the latter recognising Praveen Wickramage, Administrator at Anita Stone Court. The glittering gala event took place on Saturday 1 November at the ICC in Birmingham, hosted by compère Steve Wallis, and brought together professionals from across the social care sector to celebrate excellence, innovation, and compassion. In awarding BCOP the Care Home Employer Award, the judges praised the organisation for its: "Considerable acumen and entrepreneurial flair whilst at the same time having a sustained track record of delivering high quality care and managing improvement." The Great British Care Awards celebrate the dedication and professionalism of the social care workforce, especially during a time of workforce pressures, reform uncertainty, and rising costs of living. The event introduction highlighted that, "The dedication and resilience of the social care workforce have never been more vital — or more visible."
